How can I deal with my ulcerative colitis?

I have Crohn's, a similar condition, and yes, it's very painful. There are many foods I cannot tolerate either, I've been permanently on a low-fibre diet for three years, and it does get to you I know. Are you on medication for it? I am on a conconction of various medications, including low-dose chemo. I guess I'm 'lucky' in that I have a colostomy, so no having to make a mad dash to the loo any more. If you are under a gastroenterologist, you need to contact them, do you have an IBD nurse? most hospitals have one. If not, ask to be referred through your GP
