Woke up in cold sweat and now feeling sick. ?

I think I got food poisoning but my grandfather has the same symptoms, cold hands and feet, hot head and chest, stomach cramps, shaking. He on the other hand had such bad face spasms from the shaking that his jaw started locking up, so I'm just curious but is this fatal.(For him not me he is 67 after all.)
