Do I have what it takes to get into medical school?
I am currently 16 (grade 10), living in British Columbia, and am considering a career in medicine. Well, considering may be a bit of an understatement. I have been dead set on becoming a doctor for quite some time. I have had the top GPA in my class for the past 2 years, bearing in mind that this achievement is somewhat humbled by the fact that most students in my grade are considered dropout risks. My average last year was about 98% (so GPA roughly 4.0) and is currently sitting at around 95% (3.9?). I have a job, am involved in my school's leadership program, and participate in several sports. Also consider, and this is critical, I am NOT picky; I would literally be willing to go into any medical program anywhere that would take me. Do I have what it takes to get in, and are there any suggestions as to what I should do to bolster my chances of being accepted? Also, as a side note, which is the better undergrad program for someone entering medicine: pre-med or bachelor of science? Thank you!
